I consider my work in the nonprofit sphere, my volunteer work, my vegetarianism, my consumer choices, and my outreach through online media to be my community activism. For me, activism is about education and empowerment leading to action in order to address a social or political issue. I will link here my work with AmeriCorps, as well as guerilla gardening activities and other, perhaps more personal agendas.
Issues that may arise:
- I am a feminist, as in I believe in social, political, and economic equality for women and men.
- I think borders are imaginary lines.
- I hold to a form of anarchism in regards to governance - a decentralized network of intentional communities, let's say.
- I believe strongly in reducing plastics and chemicals.
- I look forward to environmentally-friendly innovations that will allow our human population to live in balance with our planet and our fellow creatures.
- I don't support animal testing or factory farming.
- Corporations are not people, and pizza is not a vegetable.
